    Cowgirl Chic

    Cowgirl Boots

A popular style right now is to dress like a cowgirl.  Get out those cowboy (or in our case, cowgirl) boots, pair it with a skirt and turquoise jewelry, and you’re high fashion.  It’s been popular on all the runways!

Celebrities love the style – Sandra Bullock and Kate Hudson love their cowboy boots!  Go cowgirl chic!

    Trends for Nails

Getting a patterned manicure is the new trend for nails whether you add stripes or apply jewels to your nails.  It seems a bit difficult but Sally Hansen has a new Nail Art Pen that makes it easy for the rest of us who don’t want to visit a manicurist regularly (or pay one).

    Summer Fashion Trend

It is now officially summer.  Bring on the beach, backyard BBQ’s, and fun!

If you want to bring it on in fashion, orange is the color of summer this year according to Girl’s Life magazine.  Everybody’s wearing it and wearing it well.

    Distressed Denim Coming Back

    Distressed Denim: I'm lovin' it!

    Sold at Forever 21

I love the fashion trend this year of distressed denim!  Fashions always seem to come back around and I remember this one from years ago.  From shorts to jeans, very distressed is best!

What if you have piles of jeans and want to make them trendy?  Distress them yourself!  Here’s how to do it:

    1. Put a solid surface within the fabric you want to distress (to protect your table or whatever you are doing this on), like a block of wood or something else you don’t mind getting a little damaged.
    2. Take a cheese grater and rub it against the denim.  How gentle you rub will determine how much the fabric gets distressed.  For holes and tears, rub vigorously.  (Don’t use scissors to make the holes…it’ll just be a normal hole, not distressed).
    3. Sandpaper will give you a worn look as well.

I saw this done once on Rachael Ray’s talk show with a cheese grater.  If you don’t want to try this on your jeans until you’ve practiced, pick up a few pair from your local Goodwill and go to town on them!
