    Coconut Oil as Moisturizer

I’ve been researching coconut oil for cooking purposes (it’s supposed to be better than olive oil) and have found that many people use it for weight loss (big surprise).  What was really interesting was to read that it is a great skin moisturizer.  It softens the skin up nicely without all the added chemicals put into some lotions.  It’s also great as a massage oil.  I’m going to find a great organic extra virgin coconut oil and try it out!

    Finding Your Own Style

There are so many different styles to wear, always a new fashion trend talked about.  I’ve heard about several different ones in the last month for Autumn alone!  How do you know which one is trendy and which one has already seen its last day?

With so many different trends to choose from, I say find the style that makes you feel comfortable and good about the way you look.  If you’re not comfortable with what you’re wearing, it will be more of a burden than a pleasure.  If you don’t feel good in the clothes, what’s the point?  Find the style you like or mix ‘n match from different trends and have fun with clothes!  Create your own personal style!

    Boho Chic

    Nicole Richie Boho Chic

    Nicole Richie Boho Chic

That’s something I’ve not heard of before.  I’ve heard of chic but boho?  There is a boho trend this Fall in fashion according to Cosmo Girl - the hippie movement is back!  Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller and Kate Moss are some celebs who have adopted the look.

The hippie style could be fun.  I could manage a little of that.  If the hippie style is coming back around, does that mean the 80′s won’t be far behind?  If only 80′s hair would come back because that’s all my thick, curly hair wants to do!

    Vitamins for Swine Flu

With all the panic over the swine flu (H1N1), are you wondering what you can do to avoid it?  Can you avoid it?  Is there anything a girl can buy, or take from her medicine cabinet, to help?

People should be ensuring their immune systems are in top form.  I’ve read a lot about how great Vitamin D is for your immune system (is it a coincidence that flu season is worse at the time of year when people are indoors more, not out in the sun, naturally making Vitamin D?).  I’m definitely putting Vitamin D on my shopping list.  Other things to consider would be Vitamin C, E, and A.  Bioflavonoids are also good.  Zinc is another supplement that, if you aren’t getting enough from food sources, you might want to talk to your doctor about all of these BEFORE swine flu hits your house.

Definitely something to think about.  We’re not in a panic at our house over the swine flu.  A flu is a flu to me.  Now if this winter things take a drastic turn for the worse, then that may change but with good hygiene and immune system boosters, I’m hoping to keep it out of our house, or at least limit its time here.

    Glamour Showing Real Women

Stick-thin?  Bony?  Gaunt?  Is that beautiful?

Glamour is showcasing supermodel women who are considered “plus-size” in the modeling industry.  They’d be “average” size by most people’s normal society standards walking down Main Street.  There are bulges and dimples in the photo gallery!  Some are naked.  Some are eating in the photos (Models eating?  Yup!).  It’s not your average magazine shoot and I like it!  There’s a really pretty one of two women (Miller size 12-14 and Renn size 12) who are smiling and they look healthy!

Start your own body image revolution!  Revolt against ‘gaunt by eating disorder’ and embrace healthy!
