In my opinion a girl can never have too much jewelry. Since I was little I loved to dress up, put on make-up and grab all of my moms jewelry, and I would wear it proud. Dancing and singing around the house, my mom wouldn’t take me out of the house after I applied a nice thick paste of make-up!  So ladies, go get some great jewelry to add to your collection! Break out the Sandals, Spring has Sprung!

Alright the moment we all have been waiting for around here, snow melting weather! High today is 68 degrees, so the snow is almost gone {or should be after today!}. It seems like every week for the past month we have had a winter storm….or two dumping at least 4-6 inches every time. It would snow, delay or even cancel school, {which if we get any more snow days we will be going into June} melt down in a couple days and than another storm would hit us. Don’t get me wrong, we needed the moisture!

Last year we dug in a new water line so that we had a hydrant back by our chicken coops so I wasn’t constantly dragging four hoses connected together to make it across our 5 acre property. With not much moisture last year nothing ever settled. This year we have already had several rain storms flooding the yard, multiple snow storms dumping several inches at a time. Now you can kinda tell the sink-age that has occurred, it has sense gotten worse dropping down to over a foot. So I am sure as soon as everything dries up, we will have to get the tractor out and start hauling dirt in again.

I may have gotten slightly off track here, but it is time for me to break out the sandals, Spring has finally sprung!! I could not be more excited!! Yippie! Time to ditch the boots and tennis shoes and free my feet from the confines and get my grove on with sandals!! Why not start spring with some great new sandals from 6pm.com. Every girl has to have a couple pairs of great sandals, I love to stock up when they have hot deals! There are tons of great sandals for any occasion!

Long Prom Dresses

I love Prom Season, it happens to be my daughter’s favorite thing too. Yes, I know she is only nine years old but she loves to go to watch her cousin Isaiah and his girlfriend Kiersten get all glammed up for Prom. My daughter loves to watch all the girls walk by with there hair all done up nice, and the fancy shoes. Most of all she loves the long prom dresses, yes, she loves them long.  My daughter Michaela is not one for showing off too much skin. {I hope to remind her of this when she is a teenager}.

yhst-81261434853532_2250_881567757My daughter is in dance and some of the outfits she has to wear she thinks are too revealing! {did I mention I was going to remind her of this when she was a teenager?}  I know that when Michaela is old enough to go to prom, everything will have to be approved by her dad first, yes she is a huge daddy’s girl.

My nephew just asked his girlfriend to Prom in the most unique way. I guess these days you don’t just walk up to them and ask them. Nope, he went to her house and took pictures of different things in her home. Than each picture was numbered, if you look at the photo above you will see that she had a card that read ” To solve the puzzle, follow the picture clues, a wonderful prize will be waiting for you”. Than each picture had a letter that she would use to solve the puzzle “Hangman style”. Once she solved the puzzle, which was FRONT DOOR, there was my nephew asking her to Prom! Cute huh?

 

Make your own Sugar Scrub!

One of the best gifts I got was from my mother last year. My skin is super sensitive and I usually can’t use much to wash it because it usually breaks out like crazy. My mom sent me home with a homemade Sugar Scrub that I swear by now. My skin is seriously so soft and smooth and it doesn’t break out like it used to.

Here is a list of things that you will need to make the Sugar Scrub:

1- glass jar

*Sugar

*Dawn Hand Rejuvenating Soap/ Great Value Walmart Brand Hand Rejuvenating Soap for half the price.

 

First Step is to decide how big you want your glass jar to be. I choose  one that has the flip top lid with rubber seal, because I keep this in my shower I didn’t want to be unscrewing a lid and have it rust out on me. The jar I choose was by Le Parfait jar that I found at a garage sale, however you can also find them on Amazon.

 

Than I fill the jar with sugar leaving about 3/4 of an inch space from the top of the jar.

Than I add the Great Value Hand Rejuvenation Soap about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the sugar

Than I take a spoon and stir!

You don’t want to add too much liquid soap it should be a fluffy paste. When you add it to your hands in the shower and add water it will lather up nice and clean your skin beautifully.

And this is the end result!!! It smells great because the soap scent is Pomegranate!

I use this on my face, arms, and legs. The first time I did use this on my legs I used it after I shaved and than realized I needed to shave again because it really exfoliates the dead skin! My skin always feels amazing after wards.

This makes great gifts, for birthday’s, hostess gifts, I even made them for my kids’ teachers as part of their Holiday gifts!!
