While, my children don’t know brand name clothing or ask for a certain brand, my daughter has taken a liking to Justice Clothes because of their bright colors.  The only way I ever buy anything brand new is when it is on clearance or discounted at a great price. I asked my daughter to come check out the computer and pick out her favorite outfit on her that she liked and the outfit is all her!

Children’s Swivel Chair

I have always wanted to get one of these children’s swivel chairs for the kids, and finally found a place that has them. This would be the fun-est chair to have in the kids bedrooms to read in. My boys were diagnosed at a young age, having Sensory Processing Disorder. Their brain has a hard time processing their senses, and so what happens is they go into over load and become over stimulated. They essentially act out, but have no idea why. My oldest son who is 7 years old, finally was able to start first grade this year with no IEP (Individual Education Plan). He attended preschool at our elementary school in the Early Childhood Special Ed department and was able to receive his services at school. He started school when he was three years old, and attended the special ed class for three years before starting kindergarten. In kindergarten he had an IEP and had a teachers aide assist him through class, he has come so far. He was able to start first grade this year and graduated out of having an IEP. My third child, and second son Brock was also diagnosed with SPD, and is attending the same class that his brother Coleton did. I am hopeful that he too will be able to follow his brother in graduating out of an IEP when it is needed.

I am constantly on the look out for items that will help with sensory, this chair has a pull down hood, allowing a secret hiding spot. The light fabric will let the light in, so Brock would never be completely in the dark when the hood is shut. The spinning action of the chair helps his brain sort sensory impressions, which helps him. I gotta have this chair!

C9 by Champion® Girls’ Poly Pant

My daughter Michaela loves her C9 by Champion® Girls’ Poly Pants that I got her for her birthday. We started walking and jogging as a family and she had to have a pair of active pants like I did, so this is the pair that we got her. The fabric is made of  polyester and spandex moisture wicking stretch fabric, that fits nicely to her body and still allows her movement while biking or jogging.

We also got her the capri leggings by C9 by Champion that she loves to wear when the weather is a little warmer. I love that these fit close to her skin, especially when riding her bike! I love that my family has started making it a point to get out of the house to exercise. We all love it and even the four year old gets in on the fun. Although he hitches a ride in the jogging stroller he still loves it. Do you get out and exercise with your family? It is so much more fun to do it as a family, plus everyone is getting healthy!

Monster High Girls are a hit in our house!

My daughter is in love with Monster High Girls, so when I found her this Monster High Rebecca Steam Doll she was thrilled. She loves to play with her dolls, and even at the age of 9 she still plays! Her and her best friend Alyson are both in love with the Monster High Dolls. When Alyson broke her arm and wasn’t able to play outside for recess, she got to choose a friend to stay in with her and of course she choose my daughter and her best friend Michaela.

They were able to bring a snack and a drink, and something to play with while Alyson had a broken arm. As far as the two of them were concerned that was the best part of school for a month!  I could not even tell you the exact number of Monster High Dolls that my daughter has, she has a three drawer organizer that she keeps all of her Monster High Dolls in and all their accessories in. I don’t mind having all the pieces that come along with the dolls as long as I don’t happen to step on one. Do your kids have any Monster High Dolls? Which one are their favorites?

Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch eBook Reader

319qdlTMhFL._SL500_AA300_We were stuck this year, trying to figure out what to get are nine year daughter. My husband, ironically came up with the idea to get her a Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch eBook Reader. My daughter loves to read and some days {when there is no school} can read two books. She is currently is the top ranking student in her class and is in Accelerated Reading. She is in third grade and has a reading level of a fifth grader. Michaela really makes us proud with her outstanding reading skills. When she checks out books at school she checks out two at a time because she knows that she will have the time to get the both read and test on them.

It has become a habit on Monday nights, which happens to be the same night that she goes to Dance Class, to stop at Barnes & Noble and buy a new book. We have been doing this for about six months now and her little library of books in her room is growing. She has decided that some of the books that she likes to read are not all offered at her school, so she has decided to donate them so that the other kids that also like reading that series can enjoy the books too.

When she got the Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch eBook Reader she was thrilled. It deffinetly makes reading fun, because she can go to the local library or to the libraries website and check out books. There is a huge savings on buying books and it makes things really convienent and fun for her. She browses what is avail and checks out the books she wants. She is only nine years old and can operate it. It was totally worth the money that we spent. She was thrilled on her birthday.
