    Fall 2009 Nail Trends

    baremoon

When you hear about fashion shows, you think – clothes.  Did you notice the nails on the models?  The 40’s inspired bare moon manicure has made a comeback.  I first saw it on Lifetime’s Style page.  If you have a steady hand (or a friend with a steady hand), or a great manicurist, this is something you could have for trendy nails.

    Trends for Nails

Getting a patterned manicure is the new trend for nails whether you add stripes or apply jewels to your nails.  It seems a bit difficult but Sally Hansen has a new Nail Art Pen that makes it easy for the rest of us who don’t want to visit a manicurist regularly (or pay one).

    Make Your Own Nail Polish

    picture-1

Love to wear nail polish but frustrated that you just can’t seem to find that perfect shade? Well, then make your own!

Here is what you will need:

    • 1 paper envelope
    • 1 bottle white or clear nail polish
    • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon finely crushed powder eyeshadow or as needed ( your choice)
    • 1/3 teaspoon fine glitter (optional)

Start by making a tiny funnel by snipping off a corner of the envelope. Open the bottle of nail polish and position the funnel over the top.

Pour the eyeshadow and the glitter together into the nail polish bottle (use the funnel). Mix well with a small wooden stick. You can also close the bottle and shake well.

That’s it! Now all you have to do is try it! Brush a little on a nail. If you’re not satisfied with the color or the sparkle, add more! nails
