Last year we dug in a new water line so that we had a hydrant back by our chicken coops so I wasn’t constantly dragging four hoses connected together to make it across our 5 acre property. With not much moisture last year nothing ever settled. This year we have already had several rain storms flooding the yard, multiple snow storms dumping several inches at a time. Now you can kinda tell the sink-age that has occurred, it has sense gotten worse dropping down to over a foot. So I am sure as soon as everything dries up, we will have to get the tractor out and start hauling dirt in again.

I may have gotten slightly off track here, but it is time for me to break out the sandals, Spring has finally sprung!! I could not be more excited!! Yippie! Shopping for jewelry can be so overwhelming. Well…shopping for anything can really be overwhelming when you have a tough time making decisions like I do. I’ve a very “type A” person (which means that I am a little critical, ambitious and am self-critical). I am always worried that I will make the “wrong” decision.

I have a nine year old that loves to dress up, my mom often finds some old prom dresses at thrift stores or garage sales and keeps them in the toy room at her house for her grand daughters! My daughter Michaela and my niece Mazie love dressing up and pretending like they are going to Prom. I took them to my nephew’s Winter Formal and they both sat at the edges of their seats admiring and carefully looking over every detail as they walked past us at the grand march. Every first Thursday of May we meet at my sisters house, and load up!  My sister Mollie usually brings a crock pot full of meat for sandwiches with buns, than we bring chips, veggies and dips! We are all in charge of our own drinks, I prefer water or wine will do too! Thursday we leave Katie’s house around noon and head to Lake City. Yes… we usually start shopping right away, there are always those eager over achievers that want to start selling before the scheduled Friday start.

Now we take this garage sale thing pretty serious, and last year we even had to rent a U-haul to bring our treasures home!!! NO..I am not kidding!  We actually had to rent a U-haul trailer that we ended up stuffing full, from top to bottom, full of goodies!! This trip is planned every year, and we all look forward to it!! We all have an idea of what we are looking for, some even carry a list! There is no time for lolly gaggers here! We need to make progress, so we get to a garage sale, pile out of the trucks and shop, pile back in and off to the next sale. Not only are people selling their unwanted things, you can also find, brats, hot dogs with all the fixing’s, mini donuts, and even keg beer!! Next Thursday is the day! I will keep you all posted on my treasures we find! She is going to be a tall girl like her daddy! Although my husband and I are both tall, she has a great chance! Ok, back to the sandals, I just found them on Target online and for a great price! Check out this hot deal! I love these sandals because they have the little strap that will go between your toes!  I always hate when my foot slides so far out that it touches the ground when I walk!

Long prom dresses are the thing this year. I feel like it goes back and forth between the long and short lengths, but this year the top sellers were the longer lengths. 

Asymmetrical necklines are a fun way to add a little “pizazz” to a dress. This also provides some great detailing so a necklace isn’t necessary.

A bedazzled bustier keeps the emphasis on the top of the dress since the all-over bling gets a little overwhelming (and not to mention, makes the dress super heavy!). This is a fun way to add a little sparkle and shine without going over the top.
