Cindy Crawford’s Meaningful Beauty Line

So I am at the eye doctor’s office the other day and a commercial comes on with Cindy Crawford on it.  She is around 42 years old and looks great.  So, what’s her secret?

She uses a line of products called Meaningful Beauty.  It’s a line of products with extracts from a melon only found in France.  It’s called cantaloupe charentais and their web site says it is rare.  The web site for Meaningful Beauty also says:

“…exclusive age maintenance skin care system that helps rejuvenate the skin and diminish the visible signs of aging. Each treatment formula contains a minimum of 7 key ingredients, including a patented melon extract, loaded with a powerful “first generation” antioxidant. Used as directed, Meaningful Beauty’s formulas are designed to help smooth the appearance of fine lines, brighten the complexion, and diminish skin roughness and redness in just four weeks.”

I looked up cantaloupe charentais for more information for those of us who don’t live in France.  Cantaloupe charentais is too fragile to ship but you can grow your own.  I found the seeds at Amazon!

Glamour Does Something Most Mags Won’t

They showed a REAL woman in their magazine!  Rather than the very skinny (or digitally altered) photos we have all become used to seeing, Glamour recently photographed a size 12 (or 14?) woman, Lizzi Miller.  She’s been referred to as “plus size” in some articles I’ve read about it but come on, isn’t that more of the “average” size of women across the United States?  Our idea of “normal” seems to be getting smaller and smaller.

When some magazines are coming under fire for digitally enhancing some celebrities, Lizzi’s photo has generated tons of support for the photograph by women who appreciate that it isn’t healthy or realistic to try to attain the digitally-altered versions of celebrities in most magazines.  It’s a reminder that women come in all shapes and sizes and according to the poll at the NY Daily News, most women want to continue to see REAL women in magazines.

Perfect Skin Tips

According to the July, 2009 issue of Ladies Home Journal, we may be using something in our daily beauty routine that is unnecessary.  It’s an item a lot of women use.  Toner!

LHJ considers it old-fashioned and unnecessary.  My mother would NOT like to hear that but now I don’t feel so bad about forgetting to use it all the time.

What you should do daily:

  1. Cleanse according to your skin type (2x/day unless you have sensitive skin).
  2. Use a moisturizing sunscreen.
  3. Apply an anti-aging treatment before bed.

This three step routine is considered effective.  If you want your skin to go a few extra miles, add an exfoliator to your routine and consider serum, eye cream, and a facial mask (no more than 2x a week).

LHJ says we can toss out that toner ladies!

Get a Gradual Tan – Safely

it’s that time of year – you want to have that golden tone to you but maybe sitting in the sun all day long isn’t your thing!

Spike Lotion with Bronzer

If you don’t have time to book a self-tanning session, mix a few pumps of body bronzer with regular hand lotion and pat it on your legs for a gradual dose of sexy, beachy color.
