Winter Lip Balm Formula

Since lips don’t have their own oil glands, keeping them moist and smooth can be quite a responsibility, especially in winter when chapping and cracking are often a problem.

That’s where this elegant naturally-protective and humectant formula comes in. It is deliciously creamy and easy to apply, with a delightful vanilla scent. Best of all, it will keep your lips beautifully moist all winter long. Here is the formula:

INGREDIENTS
1 ounce apricot kernel oil or almond oil
1 ounce coconut oil
1/4 ounce beeswax
1 teaspoon honey
Vanilla natural flavoring oil, to taste

1. In a double boiler over medium heat, combine the oils and beeswax and heat until the beeswax has completely melted.

2. Remove the mixture from the stove and stir in the honey. Blend with a handheld mixer or whisk until the mixture is creamy.

3. Add a few drops of vanilla flavoring oil and stir to mix thoroughly.

4. Pour into small jars with screw tops and allow to cool.

The mixture will keep for 6 months. Apply to lips often as desired.

Makes about 1/4 cup of balm.
