PitiCure (no, that’s not a typo)

We’ve heard of manicures for your nails on your hands. We’ve heard of pedicures for our feet. Now they have PitiCures – it’s an underarm spa treatment for your pits!

An exfoliating wipe or gentle body scrub is used to exfoliate your underarm area. Did you know you were supposed to exfoliate there? Supposedly it is to prevent bacterial growth (that “BO” smell) and ingrown hairs.

This is supposed to be the next “big thing” in pampering yourself. I’m not sure I’d pay to have somebody else do that but it seems easy enough to do at home with a gentle body scrub.

Perfect Skin Tips

According to the July, 2009 issue of Ladies Home Journal, we may be using something in our daily beauty routine that is unnecessary.  It’s an item a lot of women use.  Toner!

LHJ considers it old-fashioned and unnecessary.  My mother would NOT like to hear that but now I don’t feel so bad about forgetting to use it all the time.

What you should do daily:

  1. Cleanse according to your skin type (2x/day unless you have sensitive skin).
  2. Use a moisturizing sunscreen.
  3. Apply an anti-aging treatment before bed.

This three step routine is considered effective.  If you want your skin to go a few extra miles, add an exfoliator to your routine and consider serum, eye cream, and a facial mask (no more than 2x a week).

LHJ says we can toss out that toner ladies!
